the legend of aestus
Many generations ago, Aestus was a planet filled with many Pokemon who lived in peace. Every kind of Pokemon lived in harmony without the fear of the future. The world was govern by the Legendary Pokemon, primarily Arceus, as they all watched over the world they protected with pride. Sure, there were some problems caused by some bad Pokemon, but they were really small compared to the paradise the Earth had become. The planet has always had a beauty that only a home could have, but that only made the Aestus all the more perfect of a place to be.
Unfortunately, that perfection could never last.
Mysteriously, one of the Legendary Pokemon, Mew, began acting strangely. The usually scarce Pokemon began making more and more appearances, and even though most of them were short encounters before Mew vanished, some of them were much more aggressive. Mew was able to resist it enough not to hurt Pokemon too much. The paradise wasn't quite broken yet, but there wasn't nearly as much ease as there once was. Pokemon now had to look over their shoulders at the fear of running into the once lovable Legendary.
However, Mew couldn't fight the mysterious force forever, though.
Mew's appearance became almost unrecognizable. Its color didn't change or anything, but its once adorable face became a dark and almost psychotic. There was an ugliness to Mew that wasn't there before, and it was then that Mew almost completely fell to the corruption and took its rage to the center of the the planet. Mew, at this time, had become a real threat most Pokemon were aware of. However, when they felt the tremors that came with Mew's rage as Mew descended toward the land of Teigano.
Little did anyone know was that it was heading right for a force to be reckoned with. The King of the Sea to be exact. Unfortunately for the aggressively corrupted Mew, Kyogre had also felt Aestus shake from the bottom of the ocean, and was very much aware of the immanent threat. Various other Legendary Pokemon had been aware of Mew's recent actions, but none of them felt like there was ever a proper opportunity to act. Not only that, but for some mysterious reason, Arceus was nowhere to be found.
Kyogre was one of the more aggressive legendary Pokemon who wanted to take action, but had been forced to keep his temper down out of fear of destroying the planet with tidal waves. Now was the perfect opportunity to actually do something, but the fight was much more vigorous and long than he thought. Not only that, but the clash of the two powerful Pokemon was doing some major damage to the planet. Especially the ocean.
Mew was a far more powerful than even Kyogre expected and the King of the Sea found himself being overwhelmed. He knew he only had one more chance, or Mew would be able to break through and Aestus would be through. So, in a fashion all too fitting to his rash personality, Kyogre did something that most Pokemon would've needed time to consider. Be he wasn't most Pokemon.
With the last of his energy, Kyogre changed into his Primal form and made a final dish effort to defeat Mew. It came with a devastating cost, though. Mew let out some of its corrupted energy through a blast, and as the pink Pokemon was being drenched with a Hydro Pump, the dark laser hit the King of the Sea in between his eyes. Mew snapped out of its crazed state, only to finally witness the damage it had done. The little Pokemon could only watch in horror as the King of the Sea slowly sank to the bottom of the ocean...
...And the affects on the ocean that came with it.
After the battle, and the loss of Kyogre, the ocean became even more turbulent and unpredictable. It has become too dangerous for even most Water-Pokemon to live in, which has caused most of them to fall into a kind of depression. They often miss the vastness of the ocean.
The land isn't safe either. Groudon, Kyogre's counterpart, has felt the lack of Kyogre's presence and has allowed major tremors to occur induced by the beast's rage. Rayquaza, though more powerful than Groudon, is unable to quench the beast's rage on a permanent basis. Only enough to keep the rage induced legendary from destroying the planet Kyogre sacrificed himself to say.
Now? Well, after a few years, things seemed to have calmed down, but no one can ever be sure these days. The bad Pokemon, known here as Outlaws, are increasing in number and causing problems. Terrorizing the Citizens of Cradagan, as well as regions outside of them, the problem has cropped up to almost unbearable degree. Things seemed to have gotten peaceful lately, but everyone is on alert.
But, lucky for Cradagan, we have a group of Pokemon who are willing to protect that peace from whoever wish to take that peace away. Pokemon Explorers are Pokemon who swear their loyalty to all things good and noble. No matter how bleak the situation, Explorers will always be here to protect the innocent and fight off those pesky Outlaws who try to harm it. Pokemon have become much more distant to each other, since Mew turned out to be something they didn't think it was.
As for Mew, well, no one's seen Mew for years. The once scarcely seen Pokemon has now disappeared...
